Oatway Design is proud to have led the Mechanical and Electrical design of Gables Dogs and Cats Home’s new kennel block, which opened its doors to the public last month. This completes phase one of a three phase new kennel block development. Announced as one of the best in the country, the kennel block is a state-of-the-art facility designed to provide a clean, comfortable and inviting environment for dogs awaiting rehoming, as well as for the staff and volunteers at Gables.

The new kennel block includes a range of advanced features, bringing in renewable energy sources wherever possible, further enhancing the facility’s sustainability. Features include air source heat pump and underfloor heating, solar powered hot water system, mechanical heat recovery ventilation and recycled grey water system and of course LED lighting.

We are thrilled to have had the opportunity to work with Gables Dogs and Cats Home on this exciting project, and are proud to have led the Mechanical and Electrical design of this state-of-the-art kennel block. We are confident that the new facility will make a real difference to the lives of these animals and to the dedicated staff and volunteers who work tirelessly to care for them; especially as energy costs continue to be a concern for this amazing charity.
